Adele P. Tometich

Adele Tometich, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2018, with loved ones on her side. Adele left NM and headed to California to participate in the war effort, by working for Henry Kaiser, to help build the Liberty Ships. She had the honor, and distinction of being included in the World War II Museum, in New Orleans, LA, for her work in the War as a “Burner” at the Shipyards. President Obama extended an invitation to her to attend a ceremony at the White House to honor the existing Burners for their contribution to their country. She was true “Rosy the Riveter”. While in California, Adele met her adoring husband, Joseph Anthony “Tony” Tometich, Sr. Adele and Tony, returned to NM with their son in 1948. Adele then became an Associate Group Leader, for the University of California, at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she proudly retired after 36- years of service. She enjoyed the remainder of her life by traveling the world, visiting religious sites, spending time with her family and friends, and being a devout Catholic. Adele was preceded in death by her father: Joe Pacheco, husband: Tony Tometich, mother: Dora Kelly, granddaughter: Candice Tometich, daughter-in-law: Lisa Tometich, sister: Lillian McElroy and daughter-in-law: Melissa Woodruff-Hardee.
She is survived by her son: Joseph Anthony “Tony” Tometich Jr., her granddaughter: Jennifer (Richard), granddaughter: Tricia (Brian), grandson: Jason and fiancé Jamie, granddaughter: Tara, great granddaughters: Larissa, Savanah, great grandsons: Gabriel, Ayrton, Talyn, Gavin and great great granddaughter: Lynette, god daughter: Theresa Light.

Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Yost and Clifford McElroy.
Viewing will begin at 6:30 pm on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Rivera Family Funeral Home Santa Fe, NM.
A Rosary will be recited at on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Rivera Family Funeral Home.
Mass will be on held at Cristo Rey Church on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 am with Interment to follow at Rosario Cemetery Crypt.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to any Cancer Foundation of your choosing.
