April Frances Browne

April Francis Browne, 42, of Dixon, NM, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. April was born at home in Questacitas, NM on April 24, 1976 to Connie Wood and Lemuel Browne. She was raised in Dixon, attended the local elementary school, and graduated from Chamisa Mesa High School as valedictorian in 1994.

April spent most of her life living in and around Dixon and Taos and a few years in Albuquerque. She is the mother of two beautiful children, Justice and Ashley Quintanilla, whom she loved dearly. April loved camping, cooking, and beading. She had a huge heart and a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Fran and Bill Duffy and Ted and Janet Wood. She is survived by an extensive family including her children, their father Scott Quintanilla, her parents, her siblings Kevin Duckworth, Michael Browne, Kiva Duckworth-Moulton, Gabriel Browne, Jessie McKeon and step-sister, Serena Martinez; as well as a long list of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and out-laws who all loved her dearly. The family will hold a small private service with a community celebration for her life to be scheduled for later in the summer.

The family has started an account for April's children, to assist in future expenses, including college. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the “April Browne Memorial Fund for her children” account at any NUSENDA Credit Union.
