Biography


Calvin Lee Miller, 68 of Tres Piedras passed away on April 8, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, John Miller. He is survived by his children, Luree Sigala (John) and Calvin Miller II (Barbara), granddaughters, Jessica (Micheal), Reina and Elena, mother, Lora Sanchez (Clyde), brothers and sisters, Johnny Miller (Linda), Connie Sanchez (Ernest), David Miller (Linda) and Jodi Lamoreux (Roger), best friend and cousin Duke Cozart and best friends Bill “Doc” Anderson and Rick Wyse, many other relatives and friends.

Calvin was a loving father, avid hunter and fisherman always enjoying the outdoors especially in the Tres Piedras family lands. He would drop everything to help family, friends and people that were in any need.

He served his country in the Army. He then worked for Colony Materials. He later served as an EMT for Pena Blanca and then as the Fire Chief at Cochiti Lake.

After retiring to Tres Piedras he worked as a volunteer on the Tres Piedras fire department and ran the Tres Piedras RV Campground and Cabins. Calvin built his home and business in Tres Piedras from the ground up. He was an accomplished builder and handyman.

Calvin is remembered as being a kind loving soul who gave to his country and community with heartfelt love and respect.

Pallbearers: Roger Lamoreux, Chris Garcia, Andy Braun, Mike Miller, Kevin Lamoreux, and Obie Gillispie. Honorary Pallbearers: Duke Cozart, Bill “Doc” Anderson, Rick Wyse, Johnny Miller and David Miller.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at Rivera Chapel in Taos. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 AM at The Church of Latter Day Saints in Tres Piedras with interment to follow at the Tres Piedras Cemetery.
