I first met Danny in his dumptruck about 30 years ago, when I was excavating for my garage in Talpa. Then I started seeing him around town, the Quality Inn, and on the road. Always friendly and happy. I knew he was struggling with cancer for some years and he was a real hero. He was the best tailgate spreader and a very nice man. I will miss him. Mr. Oldsmobile

Danny was my best friend for several years before I left Taos. We shared at least one house.
I was cutting logs, and he had his garbage business, and sometimes when we'd collapse, exhausted, after a cold, hard day, we'd both fall asleep at the dinner table.
The jug of pre-mixed Martinis we kept in the freezer might've had something to do with that.
Danny was a very hard worker, extremely funny, and a true friend.
I'm sorry he didn't get to be an old man; he would have made a great one.
