Donna Martinez symbolized Taos to me and all the good qualities of its people. She was a delightful person, good business woman, and a total joy to know. We shared a common interest in pedigreed dogs. Rest In Peace dear friend until we meet again.

I didn't know her personally, but would see her often at the window of Taos Java when I'd drive up to get my morning coffee on the way to work. She was so beautiful and friendly. And always had a biscuit for my dog if he was with me. Wow, way too young to go.

Such a brilliant woman Donna was! As a fellow weaver, I watched her master the craft and then do things with it which others hadn't conceived of. Her creativity showed in all that she undertook and her character was the same---trustworthy and most fine. I believe her influence must show in her beautiful daughters and wish for their happiness. May her family enjoy many fond memories of her and heal from their loss.

Sending my condolences to Donna's family. I met Donna the week Taos Java opened when I stopped by for a cup on my way to work. That became my morning ritual every day until retired in Dec 2011. Her persona carried such warmth and grace to all who walked in the door. I will miss you Donna. Taos has lost one of its beautiful souls.
