Eleanor passed away after a long battle with dementia/alzheimers and failing body. She is now at peace. Eleanor is survived by her 3 children: Jacque Diener, Ray Engstrom and Robert Engstrom (and his wife Silvia); 9 grandchildren, Amanda Diener, Mathew Diener (and his wife Averie), Justin and Donald Engstrom (Ray’s Children), Christopher, Joshua and Corey Engstrom (Robert’s children) and Charlie and Michael Sherrill (from her marriage to Charles Mueller); and 4 great grandchildren, Dominic, Jesse (Amanda’s children), Issac and Victoria (Mathew’s children). Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, brother and her first husband Richard Engstrom and her second husband Charles Mueller.
Eleanor and her parents Milton and Florence Huston and twin brother Donald moved from Ohio to live and work in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1937 and they never left. Her passion was painting gardening and playing the piano and being with family. She was a much loved person who was very caring and would help anyone.
A heart felt thanks goes out to PMS Hospice services and all its volunteers who helped with Eleanor’s final year under hospice care.
A memorial service will be held on January 13 at 1 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 431 Paseo de Peralta and reception will follow at the Masonic Lodge.
