Biography


EMILIO ROYBAL, 104, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was born in Embudo, NM on December 31, 1913 the son of Margarita Duran Roybal and Antonio Roybal. He and Angelica Martinez were married in Denver, Colorado on December 31, 1937. She preceded him in death May 24, 1997. Also preceding him were his parents, Antonio and Margarita Roybal; brothers, Juan Antonio, Daniel, Adelaido, Gregorio, Julian (Christian Brother, Bernardo), Eloy, Augustine, Pedro, and Carlos; sisters, Eleanor, Criselda, and Josefina. He is also preceded by his loving grandchildren, Monica Roybal, Margaret Gonzales, and James Roybal. His survivors include a brother, Jose Eleveo Roybal; sons, Vincent Emilio Roybal (Susie) and Tito Roybal (Marie); daughters, Virginia Benavidez (Luis) and Pat Bristol (John); 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
His family will mourn the loss of a beautiful and wonderful soul. He was our own treasure and we will miss him dearly. His family thanks Molly Gonzales and her staff at Riverside Assisted Living Facility in Ribera for their special care provided for over 12 years. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, September 24, also at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Rodeo Road where he will lay at rest beside his beloved wife, Angelica. Pallbearers will include Andrew Roybal, Vince Roybal, Phil Bristol, Adam Benavidez, Ricardo Roybal, and Joe Vigil.
