Ernest “Steve” Garcia 70, passed away November 10, 2017. Ernest was a life long resident of Santa Fe, NM. He was born March 20, 1947 to Martha and Willie Garcia.
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Garcia, mother Martha Garcia, son’s Noel and Matthew Salazar.
He is survived by his wife Mary Garcia, daughters Karla (Brian) Sorrell, Denine (Miguel) Dominguez, Margo Salazar and sons, son Tommy Salazar and family, grandchildren Shyanne, Avery, Christina, and Camille, brothers Gene (Kathy) Garcia and Jake Garcia, sister Christy Romero, along with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
He was proud of serving in the Army and National Guard. He worked as a Correctional Officer for 15 years and enjoyed driving for Santa Fe Trails. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Celebration of his life commences on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at Grace Community Church 2247 Camino Carlos Rey, with Veteran’s services at National Cemetery at 3:00pm, followed by food and refreshments at Grace Community Church.
