Helen A. Vigil

HELEN A. VIGIL, 83, passed peacefully at her Santa Fe home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vigil and her mother, Sadie Martinez, and her father, Rosario Apodaca. She attended and completed school in Santa Fe and married Robert Vigil on August 22, 1953 in Santa Fe. She had been employed by Kasey Waffle House, Manuel Lujan Insurance, Furr’s Cafeteria, Zales Jewelers, Card & Party Shop, K-Mart and Safeway. She was a life ong member of St. Anne Catholic Church, and her favorite past time was camping and fishing the Pecos. She is survived by her two sons, Victor Vigil of Rio Rancho and Frank Vigil of Santa Fe; sisters, Lorraine Sena, Priscilla Roybal (Phillip), and Kathy Bustos; brothers, Phil Vigil and Raymond (Sonny) Gallegos. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her family expresses their deepest thanks and gratitude for the affectionate and loving care provided by her care givers, Suzy Natay, Barb Garzelloni, Dannie Lohr, and Priscilla Martinez. Visitation will begin Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Rivera Family Kiva Chapel, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers include Vince Martinez, Santos Montoya, George Romero, David Sena, Del Tapia, and Randy Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Chavez, Eddie Gutierrez, Rick Gutierrez, Martin Martinez, Ronnie Medrano, and Tom Sena.
