Biography

Anthony J. Peña, 59, went home to be with Our Lord on March 6, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and godfather. He was born on October 23, 1959 in Santa Fe and married Theresa Archuleta Peña, his wife of 37 years, on October 24, 1981. Anthony was a lifelong Redskins fan and enjoyed music, painting and fishing. He was a self taught inspired artist. Over the years he worked at Tia Sophia’s and Lopez Roofing before finding his true calling in banking working for First Interstate Bank, Wells Fargo and First National Bank.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ron Peña, grandparents: Reney Martinez, Tony Ortega, Fernando Peña and Francis Peña, brother-in-law Vincente Encinias. Survived by his loving wife Theresa Peña, son Jerome Peña (Nicole), daughter Mariah (Zach), mother Gloria “Punky” Dofflemyer, father Joe Peña (Laurie), sister Norma Encinias (Jason), Vinnie (Erica), Jasmine (Jacob), Sister-in-law Bernadette Peña, Nicholas, Chaînes, Special Aunt Molly Dofflemyer, Special Uncle William “Billy” Dofflemyer, Padrinos Kathy and Tony Mendonca, Lifelong friend Larry Apodaca and beloved godchildren Francisco Archuleta and Star Encinias, father-in-law John P. Archuleta (Elvira), brother-in-law Robert Archuleta, Tori (Shelby), Sister-in-law Carmelina Urbina (Mario), Brianna (Jason), Aedyn, Charles (Leandra), Mikko (Kyle), Mary (Ian), brother-in-law Elias Archuleta (Celina), Adriana, Diego, Francisco, brother-in-law John Celso Archuleta (Jennifer), Mikalynn, Max, Maddox and numerous other extended family members. Special thanks to Michael and Leann Chavez and coworkers at State Employees Credit Union.

A Viewing and Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church. The Viewing will begin at 6:00pm and the Rosary will start at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:00am at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church.
Interment will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at La Cienega Cemetery.
