Biography


Joe Perea, 75, of Dilia, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in his home on May 16, 2018.

He was born on November 30, 1942 in Dilia, New Mexico the son of Lino and Dorthea Perea who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his younger brother Edwardo Jerry Perea

He is survived by his wife, Ramona, his son Joseph Perea (wife Victoria) Grandchildren Martina Jo, Emiliano and Marcos. Stepson Fredrick Romero (wife Carol); Stepson Greg and Chanda Romero; and Stepson Jerome Romero. Grandchildren Gregory, Reese and Nathaniel Romero. Siblings; Alice Quintana; Cordy Sandoval; Frances Espinosa; Angie Baca; Seferino Perea (wife Mary Helen). Beloved Aunt Mida Branch (husband Michael). Many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving the family as Pall Bearers will be Frank Sandoval; Elmer Carter; Danny Baca; Ruben Sandoval; Kathryn Violet Perea; and Joe John Montoya. Readings will be done by David Quintana and Christina Espinosa.
Rosary and Mass will be Tuesday May 22, 2018 at San Jose Church in Anton Chico, New Mexico at 11:00 am followed by the burial at the Dilia Cemetery and Reception down below at Maestas Lounge.

I WORKED WITH JOE AT LANL LOS ALAMOS NM IN 1974 THRU 1976. WE BECAME GOOD FRIENDS AND CARPOOLED TOGETHER FROM WORK TO ESPANOLA NM. JOE WAS QUITE A CHARACTER AND I ENJOYED HIS COMPANY. I DID NOT SEE JOE AFTER I LEFT THE LAB BUT ONCE WHILE I BELIEVE HE WORKED FOR TH E HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT. I BELIEVE HE MIGHT HAVE WORKED FOR THE STATE AS I WAS DRIVING TO SANTA FE I GREETED HIM AS I DROVE BY. WILL SURELY MISS JOE AND I OFFER MY CONDOLENCES TO JOES FAMILY
