My heart goes out to you, Richie, and to the whole family. You introduced me to Joe at a potluck dinner the two of you hosted for the Baruch College band in the early 80's and I immediately felt the love you both shared. Joe, it was our great privilege and good fortune to get to know you and Rich at Santa Fe Opera these past several years. I wish we had known you longer. We were 10 years different with me born 1950 so I was a kid cousin. When I became an adult we became friends as well as cousins. We didn't spend a lot of time together but what we did we enjoyed each others company. We talked about ourselves and laughed a lot. When Richard came into Joe's life we got another cousin. I love my cousin Joe and always will. May he rest in peace and God Bless.

Richard, we lost an amazing man. I always looked forward seeing both of you each year. You both brought a piece of NJ home to me. I loved listening to Joe tell stories of his life, I could listen to him for hours. I'm going to miss him dearly. We now have an amazing angel watching over us. He is forever in our hearts. And I promise to keep the aloe vera plants Joe gave me alive.

The first time I met Joe was when I was visiting my brother richard on 90th street..He came in with a bottle of my favorite perfume and kissed me on the cheek,From that time forward, he was accepted in my heart.We will miss you, thankyou for all your love for me and my baby brother who is heartbroken. We will only think of happy times.I will light-a candle for you every week along with my sister and father.

Joe – it has been great knowing you. I have fond memories of meals together, rides to Albuquerque, the Dixon Studio Tour, the Santa Fe Opera, the Dreamcatcher Compound. We’ll catch up with you in the next act after intermission.

Oh Richard. I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's death. You guys had a "long song" as my mom used to say. I know you will always love him. Our hearts are built that way---- the part of the heart occupied by a person gets to be shaped just like them. My love and sympathies to you.
