June Elizabeth Alarid

With immense love and gratitude we say farewell to June Elizabeth Alarid, who passed away on Sunday, January 27 at age 72. A cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, June will be remembered as a beautiful person who loved life and inspired all she knew with her incredible strength, grace, and kindness. Born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota in 1946, June moved to California in the late 60s where she met the love of her life, Tony Alarid. The two eventually married, and settled in Santa Fe in 1978. June is preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Mervin Kerkhoff and her brother Scott Kerkhoff. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Anthony (Tony) Alarid, her two children, Gabriel and Elizabeth, her two granddaughters, Gwen and Senna, and her five siblings Butch, Suzy, Kay, Joy, and Wendy. Her family will remember her as the best wife, mother, and grandma they could've ever hoped to have. Thank you, Mom – we love you so much. You have been the gift of our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Casa Familia Shelter.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 5 at 6 pm at the Kiva Chapel of Light. Mass will take place at San Isidro Church on Wednesday, February 6 at noon, followed by a reception at 2:30 at the Santa Fe Women's Club.
