Lou Ann Shurbet

Longtime Santa Fean, Lou Ann Shurbet, passed away February 28, 2019, in Santa Fe with her loved ones by her side. Born in Raton in 1943 to Sen. Lon V. "Pete" and Rhe Shurbet, and raised in Roy, she proudly embraced her native New Mexican roots. For nearly 50 years, she called Santa Fe home, and proudly served on the Santa Fe Opera Guild, Greer Garson Theater Board, and University of New Mexico Foundation Board. Her many years of volunteer service and auctioneering throughout the city and state brought her great joy - along with her love of New Mexico history. Her zest for life, flair for fabulous storytelling, and genuine love for her family and friends will be dearly missed.
Lou Ann is survived by her son Drew and wife Adrienne, her daughter Ona and husband Seth, and grandchildren Hattie and Pete Slade. A celebration of her life will take place Thursday, March 7th at 1pm at Rivera's Kiva of Light Chapel.
