Lucy Ortega

Lucy Ortega, 90, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2019 at her home in La Puebla NM. She had been away from her home in Questa for a few years. Lucy was a business owner for twenty five years. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel D. Ortega, daughter, JoAnn Vigil, granddaughter, Pamela Trujillo, great granddaughter, Felicity Aragon, her parents, Miguel and Juanita Ortiz, brothers, Andy, Louis and George Ortiz and sister, Helen Nunnery. Lucy is survived by her daughters and caretakers who cared for her in her last years, Donna (Martin) Gutierrez and Denise (Davin) Aragon, niece, Trudy Arellano, Shirley (Tye), Donald (Susie), Lester (Barb), Prescilla (Doug), Evelyn (Gary) and very special friends, Roxi and Pat, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Lucy was a business owner for twenty five years.

Services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10 AM at Rivera Funeral Home in Taos NM. Burial to follow at La Lama Cemetery in La Lama NM. Lucy's family sends a sincere thank you to family, friends and the Amber Care staff during this difficult time, with a special thanks to the Pall Bearers. Honorary pallbearers are her great grandchildren, Lexi, Dominik, Justin, Nevaeh, Jayda, Jeziah, Lorenzo, Nathan, Maya, Bryce, Taylor Alex and Eric.
