Deborah, and children of Uncle Ernesto, may your mourning be lightened by the memory of Ernesto’s endearing presence, with faith that he is now home.

For me, his presence and manner of speaking always commanded my full attention and I feel I never got to see him enough. He had a rich history that he generously shared no matter the infrequent times we saw each other. Although, we had some wonderful talks it was never enough.

I am grateful for Deborah who doted on him and enriched his life, and for the deep love and esteem his children had for him. I cannot wait to see him again to finish the talks we both so wanted to have. His multi-talents are etched in my memories of him. He was beloved and will be so missed.

I remember Ernesto forever, still when we met only some days, riding, laughing, playing with Deborah around in Madera, I remember his gentle character and I'm sorry for you, Deborah. And forever is a big gift, a chest, from Ernesto in my house. Thank you for all...

Ulibarri Family: I met sweet Ernesto through my husband, Robert, while they attended Spanish Colonial Woodworking class in El Rito. I was in the retablo class for a number of years, too. Robert and I sold Ernesto’s truck that he used for hauling pasture, that was our old bomber. My eyes always lit up when I’d see Ernesto in our old bomber. He made me happy seeing him driving around in the truck that once was my daddy’s. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. Get comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. He is truly one of our angels in heaven because he was one of the sweetest angels on earth. He has now joined Robert in watching over all of us. I lost Robert, my hero, 15 months ago, after a very small vehicle accident. I guess Robert couldn’t keep up with furniture demands, so, Ernesto joined him. God bless you all. Rest In Peace, Ernesto.

Quentin Wilson published a tribute .

Deborah,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ernesto. He was a long-term fixture in the Spanish Colonial Woodworking Class in El Rito. Over the years I would see him in the El Rito shop at least weekly and sometimes three times a week. Maria and I also enjoyed seeing you with him at the Apache Drums Dinner and Social Evenings in La Madera. Ernesto was a quiet man who never used more words than necessary for the topic or event at hand. He will be remembered for his Spanish Colonial wood work and for his homesteading skills.

May Ernesto rest in peace and may you find the support you need in these difficult times from internal sources and external sources.

Quentin and Maria
