I just found out today about Dr. Pursley as I called to make an appointment. My heart is broken. He was such an amazing vet and human. The boys loved their vet. Dr. Pursley will be irreplaceable. Rest in peace sir.

We are still in shock and disbelief. Dr Pursley was awesome as a vet and a friend. He always took the time to talk and didn't rush you through. He honestly cared for the pet owners as much he cared for the animals. Dr Pursley took care of our schipperkee's for over 35 years. He will truely be missed. My heart goes out to his family, Rio and staff. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Like so many other condolences here, I am also witness to the wonderful, caring, and compassionate Dr. Richard Pursley. I started going to Rick shortly before he opened his own practice on Broadway. About 40 (?) Years ago. He cared for my 7 dogs and 6 cats throughout their lives, saving some of their lives more than once.
His kind heart always shined tbrough. I watched him coax/hurry a very large turtle across Broadway one day as he halted traffic for it.
I had the privilege of working for him in 1983 & part time in 1990/91.
We are very sad that our young pups will not have the privilege of his care.
Very sincere sympathies to his family and friends. We will miss him so much.

I was shocked and very sad to hear we will never get to see Dr P again. He has been a friend an very caring vet to all my fur babies since 1976. There are so many memories and great laughs we had, my condolences and hugs go out to the family and also his staff! I still can't get a handle on him being gone! Rest in peace my friend we will always remember you and your caring heart ♥

We were so very saddened to hear of Dr. Pursley’s passing. He has been our vet for 41years and we will sorely miss him..as will Jazzi! Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to the family! God bless you all

He was an excellent Doctor, I could trust him to provide the very best care for all my animals, I have been at his clinic for 21 + years.
He was very compassionate, kind and a friend. He truly loved all the animals as if they were his own. I cannot stop the tears and my thought and prayers for the family and all the staff ( I know Pat has been staff for a long time). I know he is in heaven surrounded by all the animals and angels. I am so thankful to know him and have his care for my beloved pets. He is a man to admire.

I'm still in shock & disbelief. Dr. Pursley was the best. He always took the time to talk and just didn't rush you through. We trusted him completely with our dogs and always knew he had their best interest at heart. I am so thankful the staff worked Nicki in right before he left on vacation. She is back to her old self thanks to Dr. Pursley. My heart goes out to his family and staff. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Today I called Broadway Animal Clinic to schedule an appointment for my mom's cat only to find out that our veterinarian we have gone to for over 30 years passed away last week. He was not only the most awesome veterinarian but, was just a decent human being who loved animals and loved what he did! He was part of our family for over 3 decades and I feel so honored to have known this man and shared many of my animals lives with him! Dr. Richard Pursley, you will be deeply and sadly missed! R.I.P. You were one of the good guys!

I was a client of Rich's for 30 years. He was a trusted vet and friend and you could always count on him to get distracted and tell a good story. I thought he was immortal and would always be here to care for my furbabies. My thoughts and prayers to his wife and family, and Rio.

I just heard of Dr. Pursley's passing and was shocked when my daughter called crying. This is a shock, Dr. Pursley has taken care of my pets for 27 years. He knew that they were an extension of our family and so treated them as such. He was compassionate when we lost one. Even when we moved to North Newton we continued to drive to south Wichita so Dr. Pursley could take care of them. He will be greatly missed. Dr. Pursley had a heart of gold and was compassionate and caring during the passing of one of my fur babies. He has also cared for several of my other fur babies. His tell it like it is personality and genuineness made him a very trustworthy vet. I always enjoyed my interactions with him and how he would make me laugh. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. Dr. Pursley not only cared for all six of my fur babies but always gave great advice and respected your choice in the treatment plan. He was a kind man, great vet and I am guessing he had a photographic memory. He could remember the smallest detail about his patients, often without looking at his notes. I feel for all his clients in the south Broadway area who will need a new vet...for there are few in the area. Hugs to his family and his coworkers! He will be missed.

I was deeply saddened when my son Matt told me of Richards passing. Shocked. I really enjoyed running into him around his neighborhood or years ago when my son would visit Marc. Richard was so kind and gentle.
The heartache felt by his family must be crushing, Georgia and children hold his memory close to your heart and know that Richard had many, many friends and we are thinking of you.

Dr Pursley was such a dear man and was my vet since 1979. He cared for our many animals, and also for my children as they brought in their dear pets. He watched the children grow from small children to adults and was always so kind and caring. He was an excellent vet and handled some difficult pet problems and deaths with compassion and my children were always happy to go see Dr. Pursley. So sorry to hear of his passing. I worked for Dr. Pursley in high school and he was the only Veterinarian I ever took my animals to. This is absolutely heart breaking. Any time I went in we talked about his family and he always asked about my Mother. He was a humble, kind and truly a friend. Prayers to All of the Family. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Rick has been such a dear friend to Chuck and I as well as our precious labs over the years. Such a wonderful person. My somewhat senile mom mistakenly too Gracie the dogs tranquilizer, my dad called Rick, and he told him if she scratches at the door, let her out. We will miss him terribly. Rest In Peace my friend.

We had such a great time at our 50th class reunion last year and, Georgia, it was so good to have you there, too.
