Roberta Bernadette Payne

On January 19, 2019, Roberta Bernadette Payne, 55 went to be with our Lord with her loving husband holding her hand. After a courageous battle with cancer. Roberta’s faith in the Lord meant everything to her. She was married to her husband Randy for 28 wonderful years. She loved the outdoors. Fishing in a mountain stream and camping with her dogs was a great time. She enjoyed going hunting with her husband. She was also an excellent cook, and created great things in the kitchen. Roberta had a successful business for many years. She was a beautiful, special person who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Hoover Montoya; Mother-in-law, Lucy Payne. Roberta is survived by her husband Randy; father, Antonio Montoya; sister Charlene Gallegos and husband Abran; brother, Anthony Montoya, Elizabeth Madrid, brother John Montoya and wife Jan, father-in-law Neil Payne, sister-in-law Patricia Lopez and husband Marcos and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends who really loved her. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Osage Avenue. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Santa Fe Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lamy Hall at St. Johns parish.
